Zoom F8N and UltraSync BLUE

We are pleased to announce that the UltraSync BLUE is now compatible with the Zoom F8, F8N and new F6 multi-track field recorders. This is in addition to the Zoom H3-VR handy recorder, which already incorporates our Bluetooth® protocol.

How does the UltraSync BLUE work?

Timecode is transmitted wirelessly from the UltraSync BLUE directly into the embedded media file of the connected device (the device must include our Bluetooth® protocol for compatibility).

Use a single UltraSync BLUE unit to sync up to four recording devices shooting in close range over Bluetooth®. Alternatively, you can also connect the UltraSync BLUE to a Timecode Systems long-range RF network and sync to other camera and audio recorders using Timecode Systems units on the same channel. This provides a perfect combination of using two wireless technologies together to create a flexible and scalable sync system.

How do I connect the Zoom F8/F8N devices to the UltraSync BLUE?

Users of the F8/F8N are required to download the latest version of firmware from Zoom’s website. This is currently version 6.0 for the F8, and version 2.0 for the F8N. Further information can be found here.

Once the new firmware has been installed, please refer to the latest Zoom F8 or F8N product user guide for more information. Product support for the F6 will be available soon.
