Jurriaan Hillen is a television and Esports producer, but in his spare time he enjoys creating online content for AZ Alkmaars youth team in the Netherlands. In this interview, Jurriaan explains how our multicamera solutions have played a vital role saving time capturing and editing the footage.

“It all started when my son joined the selection team for AFC Amsterdam and the coach asked me to record the games,” Jurriaan said.

“I began using a single GoPro HERO4 and tripod. As the number of games increased, so did the number of cameras I used. Year after year they steadily grew and I currently use seven GoPro cameras per game. Two cameras are positioned next to the goal post for repetition shots, two are aimed at both halves and the other two are inside the goal.”

Using multiple cameras often meant synchronising footage during post production was no mean feat. Jurriaan said: “It was very time consuming to assemble the different shots. I lost more time finding the images than I did assembling them. This season I tried a different approach; I attached SyncBac PRO units to each of the GoPro cameras.

Previously I would run back and forth during game time to start and stop the cameras. Now that I use the :pulse base station as a timecode master and the BLINK Hub application on my computer, I am able to wirelessly control the cameras with plenty of time to spare. I am delighted and impressed how quick the end-to-end process is.

Following his positive experience using our system, Jurriaan has decided to incorporate our products in to his other businesses. “I would strongly recommend Timecode Systems as a workflow; you have more time on your hands, less stress and better-quality videos,” he said.
